MoN Takanawa presents “Shibahama Salon,” a new Yose experience.

Located near the setting of the classic rakugo tale "Shibahama", MoN Takanawa presents "Shibahama Salon", a monthly series featuring rakugo alongside other traditional Japanese performing arts.

In August, experience Japanese traditional performing arts in English. Centered on rakugo, a storytelling art enjoyed by audiences around the world, this month's program also features tamasudare. Tamasudare is a traditional Japanese performance art in which a bamboo mat is skillfully transformed into various shapes, such as a fishing rod, a bridge, or a weeping willow, accompanied by lively songs. Enjoy the laughter and emotion of rakugo together with the captivating artistry of tamasudare.

♿ Wheelchairs are not permitted on the tatami mats. However, guests who can step onto the wooden veranda without assistance may watch the performance from a traditional floor chair with staff support. Guests who require assistance must contact us before purchasing tickets at 0570-022-030 (10:00–19:00 daily, except museum closing days). Outside these hours, please use the inquiry form on the official MoN Takanawa website.
