Event Details
Kadokawa Musashino Museum (Director: Akira Ikegami) is a cultural complex that merges a library, art museum, and natural history museum. Under the supervision of founding director/editorial engineer Seigo Matsuoka, naturalist Hiroshi Aramata, architect Kengo Kuma, and art education specialist Shingo Kamino, the museum disseminates culture across a wide range from mainstream to pop culture. On the 1st floor, you'll find the "Grand Gallery," the largest exhibition space in the museum, and the "Manga & Light Novel Library," housing over 40,000 comics and light novels. The 2nd floor serves as the entrance, with ticket counters and more. On the 4th floor, you can enjoy areas where library, museum, and art museum are all "mixed together," including "Edit Town – Book Street," lined with approximately 25,000 books selected and supervised by Seigo Matsuoka; "Aramata Wonder Hihokan," a collection of diverse exhibits supervised by Hiroshi Aramata; "Edit & Art Gallery," a next-generation gallery where objects, works, and words come together to create new value; and "Bookshelf Theater," a library space surrounded by giant bookshelves approximately 8 meters high, where projection mapping is also shown. The 5th floor features "Musashino Gallery" and "Musashino Corridor," where books related to the Musashino area are collected and displayed. Don't miss the experiences you can only have here.
