Artists Lineup

March 2026

13 & 14 March - Gregg Arthur
Gregg Arthur is an original voice who has learned from and performed with music industry giants all over the world. His warm baritone and huge range allows him to embrace an audience with a tender ballad and thrill with outstanding vocal acuity, but most of all it’s his emphasis on rhythm and phrasing that has brought him admiration from legends and critics everywhere.

Endorsed by the biggest names in jazz and praised by his contemporaries and the press, Australian vocalist Gregg Arthur follows in the footsteps of Frank Sinatra, Mel Tormé, and Tony Bennett as one of the great interpreters. His recordings and live performances feature original compositions and fresh interpretations of popular standards written by legendary artists including Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Michel Legrand.

20 & 21 March - Jamie Aditya
Jamie Aditya is an Indonesian-Australian jazz and soul vocalist whose career bridges music, television, and film. First known across Asia as a VJ for MTV Asia, he has since become a respected presence on the international jazz scene.

Rooted in early 1920s–30s jazz, blues, and gospel, Aditya’s vocal style draws inspiration from Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, and Fats Waller. Based in Melbourne, he performs regularly with his band, The Mezzrollers, and has appeared at major festivals including the Java Jazz Festival. His album Trad & Soul reached No. 30 on Billboard’s U.S. Jazz Chart.

Known for his warm, charismatic stage presence, Jamie Aditya delivers performances that blend vintage jazz with soul, groove, and unmistakable personality — perfectly at home in an intimate jazz-club setting.

27 & 28 March - Marioon & The Pablo Calzado Trio
Pianist and vocalist Marioon brings a refined jazz sensibility shaped by classical training and a deep feel for swing, balladry, and lyrical phrasing. Trained at Cuba’s National School of Art, she began as a classical pianist before carving out her voice in jazz, developing a sound marked by nuance, warmth, and understated sophistication.

Now based in Asia, Marioon has appeared on leading stages across Europe and the region, known for performances that are intimate, expressive, and quietly captivating. She is joined by the Pablo Calzado Trio, led by acclaimed drummer and bandleader Pablo Calzado, whose international career and jazz foundations bring subtle drive and musical depth to the ensemble.

Together, they create a late-night jazz club experience — elegant interplay, relaxed grooves, and music designed for close listening in a timeless setting.

April 2026

3 & 4 April - Gregg Arthur
Gregg Arthur is an original voice shaped by decades of learning from, and performing alongside, leading figures of the international jazz community. His warm baritone and expansive range allow him to move effortlessly from tender ballads to moments of striking vocal clarity, always guided by a deep commitment to rhythm and phrasing—qualities that have earned him admiration from both critics and jazz legends alike.

Endorsed by some of the most respected names in the genre, Gregg Arthur stands in the lineage of great interpreters such as Frank Sinatra, Mel Tormé, and Tony Bennett. His work reflects a profound understanding of song, where nuance, timing, and intention take precedence over display.

His recordings and live performances balance original compositions with considered interpretations of classic repertoire, drawing from the work of composers including Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Michel Legrand. Each performance is delivered with restraint and clarity, inviting close listening and rewarding attention.

At Capitol Jazz Club, Gregg Arthur’s artistry finds its natural setting — music presented without distance, where phrasing matters, and every note is allowed its full weight.

10 & 11 April - Jeremy Monteiro & Jakob Dinesen
Jeremy Monteiro and Jakob Dinesen bring together two seasoned jazz voices from different parts of the world. Monteiro, long recognised as Singapore’s “King of Swing,” is known for his lyrical piano style and deep grounding in the jazz tradition. Danish saxophonist Jakob Dinesen complements this with a warm, expressive tenor sound shaped by years of performing across Europe and beyond.

Monteiro has spent decades developing Singapore’s jazz scene as a performer, composer, and mentor. His career has taken him to international festivals and concert stages while maintaining a strong presence in the region’s jazz community. Dinesen, one of Denmark’s leading jazz saxophonists, emerged in the late 1990s and has since worked with artists including Kurt Rosenwinkel, Paul Motian, Jeff “Tain” Watts, and Jakob Bro.

Dinesen’s playing is marked by a clear melodic sense and a thoughtful approach to improvisation. His recordings and projects often move between traditional jazz language and contemporary European influences, while maintaining a strong sense of swing and musical conversation.

Together, Monteiro and Dinesen present a set built on interaction and listening. Their collaboration brings together piano and tenor in a setting where space, phrasing, and musical dialogue take centre stage—well suited to the intimate atmosphere of The Capitol Jazz Club.

17 & 18 April - Vanessa Shavonne
Vanessa Shavonne is a vocalist known for her warm tone and thoughtful approach to interpretation. Drawing from both jazz and soul traditions, she brings a relaxed confidence to the stage, focusing on musical nuance and honest storytelling.

Her style reflects the influence of classic jazz vocalists while remaining grounded in contemporary sensibilities. Rather than relying on showmanship, Shavonne’s strength lies in subtle phrasing, attentive musicianship, and a natural connection with the audience.

She moves comfortably between jazz standards, soul ballads, and modern repertoire, shaping each song with care and musical sensitivity. Whether performing in an intimate jazz club or on a larger stage, her performances feel personal and unforced.

With a voice that balances warmth and restraint, Vanessa Shavonne continues to build a reputation as a vocalist who values musical depth and authenticity above all else.

24 & 25 April - Natasha Oong
Natasha, affectionately known as “Oong” in Thailand, was introduced to Thai audiences in 2009 by Warner Music Group as the lead vocalist of the jazz ensemble Mellow Motif. From the outset, her voice stood apart—clear, composed, and instinctively musical.

Over four formative years as an active recording and performing artist, Natasha established herself as Thailand’s only jazz vocalist with a sustained international presence. She has performed widely across the region, earning recognition for her musical integrity and quietly confident artistry.

Renowned for her crystal-clear tone and refined sense of rhythm and phrasing, Natasha is particularly admired for her interpretations of Brazilian music, where subtlety and timing are essential. Her approach is unhurried and precise, allowing the music to speak with natural grace.

In an intimate listening room, Natasha’s presence invites focus rather than spectacle. Her performances are attentive, restrained, and deeply personal—an ideal fit for the quiet intensity and close connection that define the Capitol Jazz Club experience.
