Enter the world of the renowned Catalan artist Joan Miró at the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona. With a unique vision of the world, and thanks to his use of bold colours and organic shapes, Miró became one of the most influential figures in the art world. In 1968, Joan Miró had the idea of creating the foundation. He wanted to establish a centre in Barcelona, of international importance, where young artists could immerse themselves in contemporary art. Respecting his original vision, the Foundation has a space ("Espai 13") dedicated to the experimental work of young artists, as well as a large collection of Joan Miró's works. Currently, the Fundació Miró exhibits some 15,000 art pieces. You can find more than 8,000 drawings, 217 paintings and 178 sculptures, as well as ceramics, textiles or graphic work.
