⭐ In July, the season when the night sky expands into the summer of Japan and the world of imagination passed down from ancient times intersect, we deliver a fantastical and humorous Japanese summer chill. While gently placing yourself in the world of ghost stories and folk tales, enjoy a dialogue with yokai (spirits and monsters) lurking in the Takanawa area, which once served as the gateway to Edo bustling with people and stories.
Highlights
💡 A workshop where you create your own "Yokai Collage" by cutting and pasting unique elements onto the silhouettes of Takanawa's historical figures, including Japan's first railway, the Takanawa Tsutsumi embankment, and the Okido Gate that marked the boundary of Edo, and then scan your yokai to watch them move on the Tatami walls as you combine them all to complete a "Modern Night Parade of One Hundred Demons"
👹 Scan your yokai on the spot and watch as they move realistically across the spacious Tatami walls
🚄 Enjoy "Zunda Mochi," a chilled dessert with the refreshing aroma of edamame from the renowned Endo Mochiten, a famous Sendai confectionery, delivered by the "Hakobyun" Shinkansen high-speed rail

The other is a Japanese sweets experience where you can enjoy Sendai's famous chilled "Zunda Mochi" from the renowned Endo Mochiten, with the refreshing aroma of edamame, letting your thoughts drift a little ahead of the season to the Sendai Tanabata Festival. Living with the Seasons: 12 Months on Tatami
Once, the "tatami" mat was the heart of Japanese life—a place to feel the seasonal breeze, savor seasonal flavors, welcome deities, and converse with family. Through this lifestyle of following the natural flow of time, Japan accumulated a wealth of flexible and rich wisdom. "Living with the Seasons" is a monthly program that invites everyone to cherish the seasons together on a grand stage of approximately 100 tatami mats.
