The Brazilian Symphony Orchestra’s World Series Repertoire includes Mahler’s Ninth Symphony,
on July 28

Concert in honor of Austria conducted by Maestro Claudio Cruz

On July 28, the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra pays tribute to Austria
on the stage of Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro. Under the baton of Maestro Claudio
Cruz, the orchestra will perform Gustav Mahler’s Ninth Symphony, the last symphony
completed by the composer.

PROGRAM:
GUSTAV MAHLER – Symphony No. 9 in D Major (90’)
I. Andante comodo
II. Im Tempo eines gemächlichen Ländlers. Etwas täppisch und sehr derb
III. Rondo-Burleske: Allegro assai. Sehr trotzig
IV. Adagio. Sehr langsam und noch zurückhaltend
