Description
Closing the Classical Concerts season of the Orquestra Petrobras Sinfônica at the Theatro Municipal in 2026, the concert on November 24, Tuesday, at 7:00 PM, celebrates the strength of symphonic music under the baton of Isaac Karabtchevsky, chief conductor and artistic director of the orchestra, a leading figure in Brazilian concert music and a central figure in the cultural history of the country.

The program establishes a dialogue between Brazilian music and the great international symphonic repertoire. The night begins with O garatuja, by Alberto Nepomuceno, a fundamental composer for the consolidation of a Brazilian musical identity at the end of the 19th century. The work combines lyricism and orchestral elegance, revealing the sophistication of an author who paved the way for future generations.

In the second part, the orchestra performs the imposing Symphony No. 4, by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, one of the most emblematic works of the Romantic repertoire. Marked by overwhelming energy, the symphony reflects the struggle between fate, conflict, and overcoming. A concert that closes the season reaffirming the artistic excellence of Petrobras Sinfônica and the expressive power of orchestral music.
