Description
The deep affection that King Henry IV had for Segovia led to significant renovations, expansions, and decorative enhancements at the Alcázar during his reign. The result was a fortress admired by all who visited. In 1466, Baron of Rosmithal, a nobleman of Central European origin, marveled at its beauty, stating: "We did not see in Spain a more beautiful Alcázar than this one, nor one that had so many riches of gold, silver, and jewels." Would you like to explore it? Join this exclusive experience led by Antonio Ruiz Hernando, PhD in History from the Complutense University of Madrid. He is also a Professor Emeritus at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM), Curator of the Alcázar of Segovia, Official Chronicler of the City of Segovia, Corresponding Academician of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, and Merit Academician of the Royal Academy of History and Art of San Quirce. His extensive research and publications cover topics such as Segovia’s urban planning, architecture, and art, the architecture of the Hieronymite Order in Spain, and landscape painting, among many others.
