Description
The tour starts next to the Aqueduct, where our official Segovia Tourism guide (with SICTED tourism quality certification) will welcome the group. From there, a bus will take you comfortably to the Alcázar’s North Garden, a space usually closed to the public, which you can only access with a guided tour. Thanks to Fernando VII, this beautiful green area, currently inhabited by colorful peacocks, transformed from a simple vegetable garden into one of the first romantic gardens in Spain.
Then, the walk continues along the banks of the Eresma River, with its lush flora and fauna, until reaching the San Marcos Meadow, where you can enjoy the iconic view of the Alcázar that inspired Walt Disney to create the famous Snow White castle. Nearby, you will enter the Convent of the Discalced Carmelites, a 17th-century jewel that holds the remains of San Juan de la Cruz, a key figure both for Catholic spirituality and universal literature. A place full of history, beauty, and calm that will not leave you indifferent.
The route ends with a guided tour inside the Royal Mint, one of the oldest industrial buildings in Europe, commissioned by Philip II. It was Spain’s first mechanized mint and is now a must-visit for those wanting to understand the empire on which the sun never set.
