Pioneer Memorial Obelisk
The Pioneer Memorial Obelisk in Hermann Park honors Houston's early pioneers. Crafted from granite by German immigrant Frank A. Teich and placed in 1936, this monument commemorates Texas Independence's centennial, set beautifully between the Jones Reflection Pool and McGovern Lake.
