Orquestra Municipal de Sopros Lençóis Paulista Agostinho Duarte Martins
  • Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 7:00 PM - 120 minutes
Founded in July 1995 by the Lençóis Paulista City Hall, the Municipal Wind Orchestra began as the Heitor Villa-Lobos Municipal Band with 12 musicians. Under the direction of Maestro Marcelo Ricardo Maganha since its inception, the group has grown technically and expanded its repertoire. With over a thousand concerts, it has recorded six CDs and four DVDs, sharing the stage with artists such as Toquinho, Renato Teixeira, and Sérgio

Reis, as well as international names. In 2014, it recorded Cézar Paulinho's 40th-anniversary show. Linked to the Municipal Department of Culture, the orchestra performs about 30
annual concerts and maintains the Young Symphonic Band, preparing over 40 young musicians for the main group. The ensemble remains committed to technical excellence and the dissemination of musical expressiveness.

Javeriana Symphonic Band
Founded in 1992 as part of the Music Program at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, the Javeriana Symphonic Band consists of students from the Faculty of Arts in professional training. After being led by various conductors, the group has been under the direction of Patricia Vanegas since 2006. The maestro focuses on original band repertoire and works by Colombian composers. In 2012, it participated in the international Midwest Clinic conference and won national awards in Paipa and Bogotá.

Outstanding social initiatives include the Musical Expedition, which brings music to various regions of the country, and Javeriana Musical Practice for high school students. The ensemble is an academic reference in Colombia, combining teaching, outreach, and promotion of the symphonic repertoire.
 
Wind Orchestra of the University of New Mexico

Solistas SAMP (Portugal)
Formed in 2007, the Solistas SAMP is an ensemble of the Sociedade Artística Musical dos Pousos (SAMP), from Leiria, Portugal. Under the artistic direction of maestro Alberto Roque, it stands out for promoting repertoire for wind formations, with a special focus on Portuguese and contemporary music. The group develops eclectic programs accessible to new audiences, bringing together musicians of high

artistic level in projects that combine interpretative excellence, innovation, and cultural appreciation. Wind Orchestra of the University of New Mexico The University of New Mexico Wind Symphony is formed by the top wind, brass, and percussion students of the institution. Recognized nationally, it is dedicated to preparing musicians for professional careers through the performance of repertoire excellence. Under the direction of Emily Moss, the group has participated in major conferences, released commercial recordings, and
contributed to the creation of dozens of new works for symphonic bands.
 
University of Michigan Chamber Winds

The University of Michigan Chamber Winds is composed of selected students of woodwind and brass instruments from the University of Michigan Symphonic Band. With pairs of flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, horns, trumpets, and trombones, this ensemble performs traditional and contemporary harmonies, including wind dectets, Stravinsky's Octet, and works for the full 14-instrument formation. Under the direction of Dr. Courtney Snyder and Prof. Jason Fettig, this group takes pride in participating in WASBE 2026.

UFRJ Wind Orchestra
The UFRJ Wind Orchestra has been performing regular seasons since 2008 and is a reference in promoting Brazilian and international music for symphonic bands. Formed by students from the UFRJ School of Music, technicians, and extension project participants, it serves as an important space for artistic development and a laboratory for the Bachelor's in Band Conducting program. The group accumulates dozens of world premieres and recordings recognized nationally and internationally.
Cubatão Symphonic Band

Founded in 1970, the Cubatão Symphonic Band is one of the most important symphonic wind ensembles in Brazil. Over more than five decades, it has established itself as an artistic and educational reference, bringing together about 80 professional musicians and developing an intense activity of concerts, recordings, and international tours. Recognized for its technical excellence and commitment to musical education, the band plays a fundamental role in promoting culture and citizenship through music.

Founded in 1992, the Tatuí Conservatory Symphonic Band plays a fundamental role in developing the Brazilian repertoire for symphonic bands. Recognized for its work in commissioning and disseminating new works, it has welcomed important guest conductors from Brazil and abroad and has built one of the most relevant discographies dedicated to Brazilian music for bands. Currently, it includes 54 musicians under the artistic direction of Marco Almeida Jr.
 
Mannheimer Bläserphilharmonie e.V.

Founded in 1987, the Mannheimer Bläserphilharmonie is one of the main symphonic wind orchestras in Germany. With about 100 musicians from the Rhein-Neckar metropolitan region, the group is dedicated to performing traditional, contemporary, and world premiere repertoire. Recognized internationally for performances at major festivals and competitions, the orchestra also develops activities aimed at training young musicians and promoting international cultural exchange.


Oregon State University Wind Ensemble
The Oregon State University Wind Ensemble has developed a distinctive artistic identity through the promotion of contemporary repertoire and interdisciplinary projects. Under the direction of Erik Leung, the group serves as a space for creation and innovation, promoting premieres, commissions of new works, and collaborations with artists from different fields. Recognized nationally and internationally, the ensemble stands out for its constant pursuit of new possibilities for concert music.
 
WASBE WORLD YOUTH WIND ORCHESTRA

The WASBE WORLD YOUTH WIND ORCHESTRA (WYWO) serves as a unique and prestigious platform that brings together some of the most talented young musicians from around the world, providing them with the opportunity to showcase their talents in a collaborative and international environment. The purpose of the WYWO is to promote the development of young wind musicians by giving them a once-in-a-lifetime chance to work alongside distinguished conductors, composers, and soloists. Through this experience, participants not only enhance their technical and musical skills but also gain exposure to diverse cultural perspectives and performance practices.
