Description
In May, the month dedicated to Our Lady, every Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., the “Advocations of the Virgin” tour invites you to discover the various representations of the Mother of God in the chapels and other areas of the Cathedral. Dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin, the Cathedral features chapels like the Virgin of the Rosary, Saint Barbara, and the Immaculate Conception, each with deep religious symbolism as well as artistic and historical significance. The Virgen de la Paz, del Pópulo, and de la Antigua are also represented through paintings, sculptures, and stained glass, reflecting the devotion to the Virgin Mary. During the tour, we will explore the meaning and origin of these advocations, which are strongly connected to the Segovian people’s faith.
