Description
Beginning in the mid-80s, the film shows how five young men from the violent, gang-torn city of Compton in south LA – by the names of Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren, Eazy-E and DJ Yella – brought a revolutionary new sound and style to the burgeoning hip hop scene with the creation of gangsta rap. By reflecting their own lives and experiences with brutal honesty and setting their uncensored words to equally confrontational beats, the group were an instant hit with fans but considered a menace to society by the authorities.
