What happens when we reinvent the folk traditions we’ve inherited? Drawing on folk music, storytelling, ritual, landscape, and working-class and diasporic cultures, we’ll explore how poetry can reclaim, challenge, and reimagine ideas of “folk culture.” An apt theme for this harvest season, poets are encouraged to bring their own folk traditions to discuss. Ruth, a London-based poet and tutor, will guide you through a day of warm-up exercises, readings, discussions, and workshopping sessions.
