Description
Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro celebrates its 117th anniversary with a special program that reaffirms its lyrical vocation. The highlight is the opera Salvator Rosa, by Antônio Carlos Gomes, in honor of the 190th anniversary of the composer's birth and the 130th anniversary of his death. The work returns to the house's stage after eight decades without being presented.

The premiere takes place on July 14, the date of the Theatro's anniversary, with the Choir and the OSTM. The production will have concept and stage direction by Julianna Santos, choreography by Hélio Bejani, movement direction by Márcia Jaqueline, and musical direction and conducting by Luiz Fernando Malheiro.
