On this guided visit, led by the curator of the exhibition and an official guide from the Tourism Office of Segovia, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the city’s old prison and the Segovia Democratic Memorial. This Memorial houses the permanent exhibition "Franco's Prison (1936-1977)," the only one of its kind in Spain, which sheds light on the prison system during the dictatorship. Its uniqueness not only gives it significant importance, but also allows it to transcend provincial boundaries. During the dictatorship, this prison served as a prominent confinement site for female prisoners (1946-1956) and male prisoners (1969-1977) from various backgrounds.
