Description
Declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 2005, the Palace of San Martín, located in the heart of the city, was built by order of Prince Henry, son of John II and Lord of Segovia, serving as the residence of Isabella the Catholic’s brother. In 2014, the Junta de Castilla y León initiated a restoration project to consolidate the remains still preserved in the building. During the tour, you will be guided by Cristina Gómez González, a graduate in Fine Arts specializing in painting and sculpture restoration from the Complutense University of Madrid. Since September 2012, she has been part of the Museum of Segovia under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Regional Government of Castilla y León, where she is responsible for restoration, maintenance, and conservation. Additionally, she is a member of the Technical Committee of the Territorial Commission of Cultural Heritage of Segovia and carries out assessments, reports, and advisory work on interventions in movable heritage for the Territorial Service of Culture of Segovia.
