Description
The old house of Los Cáceres, currently the house of the Marquises of Lozoya, hosted the inquisitorial court that was then established in Segovia at the end of the Middle Ages. From at least 1486 until 1494 the inquisitors rented this property from its owner Francisco de Cáceres to use it as a courthouse and headquarters of the institution. During those agitated years, the house and fortress, converted into an audience and jail, witnessed the transit of defendants, declarants, lawyers and officials. All this makes this palace a privileged place to remember the Inquisition's passage through the city. Would you like to know it?
