For the composer Verdi, this requiem was originally meant to signify the end and crowning of his career. Youth, ambition, eclecticism: the Helios Orchestra in a chamber music formation, founded in 2014, is making its mark on the French orchestral scene. It offers a wide variety of programmes, ranging from Baroque to contemporary music. Its repertoire is both symphonic and choral. An amateur orchestra founded on the initiative of its artistic director Paul Savalle, it is committed to the professional integration of musicians into orchestral practice.
