💥MEET Digital Culture Center
MEET Digital Culture Center is the first international centre for digital art and culture in Italy. Established in Milan in 2018 with the support of Fondazione Cariplo and founded by Maria Grazia Mattei, it officially opened to the public in October 2020. Its mission is to help bridge the Italian digital divide by promoting international initiatives in immersive spaces.
MEET explores and showcases the people, languages, creative ideas and innovative projects shaping the digital landscape. Through events, exhibitions, educational experiences, performances and interactives, it puts individuals at the heart of technological change.

ONGOING EVENTS
🌟Drawing Submerged Worlds
Saturday, April 18
MEET is participating in “Drawing Art,” an initiative by Abbonamento Musei that brings live drawing back to the centre of the museum experience for children aged 5–14. After exploring the exhibition Liquid Chimeras by Entangled Others, kids step into a space where observation and imagination merge. In the immersive room, the ocean comes to life through images, sounds and data transformed into experience. Inspired by the ocean floor and its most mysterious zones, participants become deep-sea explorers and “draw the immersiveness.” By drawing in the immersive room, children build their own visions grounded in reality, suggestion and the unknown.
Note: This workshop is for children aged 5–14. To buy tickets, select your date and choose "Drawing Submerged Worlds Workshop". Accompanying adults can get a reduced-price exhibition ticket by selecting "Reduced for workshops"
🌟In the Future Forest: VR Workshop and Performance for Families
Sunday, May 10
What if we could imagine the future of our planet together? What if to do that, we could step into a forest that doesn’t exist yet but could become real someday? Once a month, MEET hosts an afternoon fully dedicated to families with children aged 4–10, following a project that blends technology, art and play into an engaging interactive story. There are two sessions designed to explore the human-nature-science-imagination relationship through a fresh lens: from 3pm, the interactive VR workshop “In the Forest of Numbers,” followed by the performance “In the Future Forest” at 5pm. A project by Ariella Vidach AiEP / DiDstudio, made with support from MEET, the Italian Ministry of Culture and the City of Milan. A creative family afternoon where kids experience VR as participants, not just viewers, and together they reflect on a changing world and how to connect seemingly distant realms of technology and environment.
Note: This workshop is for children aged 4–10. To buy tickets, select your date and choose between "Workshop + Performance" or "Performance Only"
🌟Liquid Chimeras (Feb 5 – May 3)
Thursday to Sunday – Immersive Room and Gallery
This exhibition reinterprets the relationship between knowledge, technology and imagination. Data about planet Earth are partial, especially regarding oceanic ecologies, and the tools that collect them are vulnerable and constrained by technological and economic limits. Where information is lacking, creative opportunities arise. Curated by Eleonora Brizi, the exhibition explores this space of uncertainty as fertile ground for artistic creation, a recurring theme in Entangled Others’ work (Sofia Crespo and Feileacan McCormick). Born from the European Studiotopia project, in which the artists collaborated with oceanographer Joan Llort, it turns uncertainty into narrative and ecological possibilities. Art operates in these liminal territories where gaps become generative spaces.

🌟 Journey to Italy
Wednesday to Sunday – MEET Digital Culture Center
Journey to Italy is among the first web series entirely generated with artificial intelligence. It sits at the intersection of documentary, fiction, and meta-narrative and represents one of the most ambitious attempts to bring cinematic language into AI video generation. The series depicts the creation of an experimental TV show by inventors from the University of Pisa and Olivetti in the 1960s. The crew documents a reality produced by a computing lab: a simulation of Italy, generated by a machine. The story starts from real elements then opens into a parallel timeline where a powerful AI lets you explore memory as a navigable space. The Italy we see is not documented but recreated: recognizable yet transfigured, familiar yet alien.

🌟Renaissance Dreams
Every Wednesday – Immersive Room
Renowned Turkish media artist Refik Anadol exhibited in Italy for the first time at MEET in 2020. He created “Renaissance Dreams” specifically for the Immersive Room. This site-specific AI-generated work shows the viewer images from a dataset of artistic works produced in Italy during the Renaissance (1300–1600), transformed by algorithms that alter shapes and colours and generate sounds.
🌟Roots of the New
Wednesday to Sunday – MEET Digital Culture Center
Roots of the New traces the key stages of digital creative evolution through posters, iconic objects, and videos of exhibitions, reviews and key events from the Italian and international scenes, all sourced from the MEET Archive. Exploring MEET’s three floors, you’ll immerse yourself in the journeys of artists and movements that, from the 20th century to today, have driven research and experimentation sparked by digital technologies.
