🌟Nel Bosco del Futuro: VR Workshop and Show for Families
Sunday, May 10
What if we could imagine the future of our planet together? And what if to do that, we could enter a forest that doesn’t exist yet but might become reality one day? Once a month, MEET organizes an afternoon entirely dedicated to families with children aged 4 to 10, participating in a project that combines technology, art, and play in an engaging and interactive story. There are two appointments, designed to explore the relationship between humans, nature, science, and imagination with a new perspective: from 3:00 PM, the interactive virtual reality workshop “Nel bosco dei numeri,” and at 5:00 PM, the show “Nel Bosco del Futuro.” The project is by Ariella Vidach AiEP / DiDstudio and is realized with the support of MEET Digital Culture Center, MIC – Ministry of Culture, and the Municipality of Milan. An afternoon when families can spend time together creatively, approaching virtual reality not only as spectators but also as protagonists, while reflecting on a changing world and how technology and the environment can be interconnected.
NB. The workshop is reserved for children aged 4 to 10. Tickets will be available soon.
🌟Liquid Chimeras (February 5 - May 3)
Thursday to Sunday – Immersive Room and Gallery
The exhibition arises from the urgency to reinterpret the relationship between knowledge, technology, and imagination. Data on planet Earth are partial, especially regarding ocean ecologies, and the tools collecting them are vulnerable and limited by technological and economic constraints. Where information is lacking, creative opportunities emerge. Curated by Eleonora Brizi, the exhibition explores this space of uncertainty as a fertile environment for artistic creation, a recurring theme in the work of the duo Entangled Others (Sofia Crespo and Feileacan McCormick). Born from the European Studiotopia project, in which the artists collaborated with oceanographer Joan Llort, the exhibition transforms uncertainty into narrative and ecological possibilities. Art operates in these liminal territories where voids become generative spaces.
COMING UP
🌟 Synthetic Creatures (May 7 - September 2026)
Thursday to Sunday – Immersive Room and Gallery
A retrospective dedicated to Rebecca Allen, a pioneer of computer animation who has explored the relationship between body and technology for over fifty years. The exhibition examines how the digital can become a space of presence and not just abstraction, where the body transforms into language and identity. From early 1970s animations to virtual reality installations, the journey highlights the evolution of the representation of the human body in the digital world, conveying a radical message: technology is not neutral, and digital requires a physical perspective. The exhibition also addresses a political dimension: the presence of the body, often female, in digital challenges the idea of neutral, disembodied technology. Synthetic Creatures offers a contemporary reflection on identity, perception, and the transformation of the self in the age of virtual worlds.
🌟 Viaggio in Italia
Wednesday to Sunday – MEET Digital Culture Center
Viaggio in Italia is one of the first web series entirely generated with artificial intelligence. It is a work at the intersection of documentary, fiction, and meta-narrative and represents one of the most ambitious attempts to bring cinematic language into the realm of AI video generation. The series tells the story of an experimental broadcast created by a group of inventors from the University of Pisa and Olivetti in the 1960s. The crew documents a reality produced by a computing laboratory: a simulation of Italy generated by a machine. The story begins with real elements and then opens into a parallel timeline where a powerful artificial intelligence allows memory to be explored as a navigable space. The Italy we see is not documented but recreated: recognizable yet transformed, familiar yet strange.

🌟 Renaissance Dreams
Every Wednesday – Immersive Room
The famous Turkish media artist Refik Anadol, who first exhibited in Italy at MEET in 2020, created "Renaissance Dreams" specifically for the Center’s Immersive Room. This site-specific work is generated through AI. Images from a dataset of artistic works produced in Italy during the Renaissance (1300-1600) flow before the viewer’s eyes, with algorithms distorting forms and colors and creating original sounds.
🌟The Roots of the New
Wednesday to Sunday – MEET Digital Culture Center
The Roots of the New is a project in progress that traces, through posters, iconic objects, and videos of exhibitions, reviews, and key events from the Italian and international scenes sourced from the MEET Archive, the fundamental stages of digital creative evolution. Exploring MEET’s three floors, visitors can immerse themselves in a journey through the artists and movements that, from the last century to today, have driven the research and expressive experimentation sparked by the advent of digital technologies.
