MEET Digital Culture Center

šŸ’„MEET Digital Culture Center
MEET Digital Culture Center is Italy's first International Center for Digital Art and Culture. Established in Milan in 2018 with the support of Fondazione Cariplo and founded by Maria Grazia Mattei, it formally opened to the public in October 2020 with the aim of helping to bridge the Italian digital divide by promoting international initiatives in immersive spaces.

MEET explores and tells the stories of people, languages, creative ideas, and innovative projects through a programme of activities such as meetings, exhibitions, educational experiences, performances, and events that put people back at the centre of technological change.

🟠The admission ticket gives access to the entire ongoing programme of the MEET Digital Culture Center🟠

Highlights

CURRENT EVENTS

🌟Other Intelligences (from 13 November to 1 February 2026)
Wednesday to Sunday – Immersive Room, Gallery and Lounge
Other Intelligences, a group exhibition curated by Sabine Himmelsbach and Marlene Wenger, co-curated by Maria Grazia Mattei for the Italian leg, and produced by HEK (House of Electronic Arts Basel) in collaboration with MEET Digital Culture Center, explores forms of cognition different from our own. Systems that perceive, process, and adapt according to logics that pass neither through a brain nor an algorithm. The exhibition avoids cognitive hierarchies: instead, it analyses and discovers protocols of relation. How do we converse with those who perceive time differently, who process through the body rather than the mind, and who think in colonies rather than as individuals? Other Intelligences creates a space where the human, vegetal, animal, and artificial meet, and where art becomes a laboratory for possible relations between biology, technology, and imagination.

UPCOMING

🌟Liquid Chimeras (from 5 February)
Wednesday to Sunday – Immersive Room and Gallery
The exhibition arises from the urgency to reinterpret the relationship between knowledge, technology, and imagination. Data on planet Earth are partial, especially concerning oceanic ecologies, and the tools that collect them are vulnerable and conditioned by technological and economic limits. Where information is lacking, creative opportunities arise. The exhibition explores this space of uncertainty as a fertile environment for artistic creation, a recurring theme in the work of the duo Entangled Others (Sofia Crespo and Feileacan McCormick). Born from the European Studiotopia project, in which the artists collaborated with oceanographer Joan Llort, the exhibition transforms uncertainty into narrative and ecological possibilities. Art operates in these liminal territories where voids become generative spaces.

🌟 Renaissance Dreams
Every Tuesday – Immersive Room
The celebrated Turkish media artist Refik Anadol, who exhibited in Italy for the first time at MEET in 2020, created ā€œRenaissance Dreamsā€ specifically for the Center’s Immersive Room. This site-specific work generated with AI shows images from a dataset of artistic works produced in Italy during the Renaissance (1300-1600), which are then processed and reimagined by algorithms that transform their forms, colours, and also create original sounds.Ā

🌟The Roots of the New
Tuesday to Sunday – MEET Digital Culture Center
The Roots of the New is a project in progress that retraces, through the collection of posters, iconic objects, and videos of exhibitions, reviews, and key events in the Italian and international scene from the MEET Archive, the fundamental stages of the evolution of digital creative practice. By visiting and exploring MEET’s three floors, you can immerse yourself in a walk through the protagonists and artistic movements that, from the last century to today, have initiated the research and expressive experimentation unleashed by the advent of digital technologies.
