Description
Step inside the iconic St Martin-in-the-Fields for a special programme of compositions by Handel. Although Handel’s Water Music was composed over thirty years prior to his Music for the Royal Fireworks, the two are often paired together as both were created with outdoor performance in mind. Music for the Royal Fireworks was written only a couple of years before Handel’s eyesight began to deteriorate and he could no longer compose. These works are some of his most famous compositions written for orchestra and during this special evening, you can enjoy them side by side in all their glory. With performances from St Martin’s Chamber Orchestra, relish this beautiful music in a historic space by atmospheric candlelight.
