Description
Jazz by Candlelight transforms Glasgow's most beautiful venues into intimate Jazz Clubs, bathing the space in candlelight to provide the perfect backdrop for some sublime jazzy sounds. We seek out the best talent in the UK, who for this special edition will be playing a tribute to the works of American singer, songwriter, actress, pianist, and civil rights activist Aretha Franklin. Known as the "Queen of Soul", Franklin received numerous honours throughout her career, and in 2019 was awarded a posthumous special citation "for her indelible contribution to American music and culture for more than five decades". Sit back, relax, and enjoy a history lesson on one of the most influential and acclaimed figures in the world of jazz.
