Overview: The sunset cruise lasts for 2 hours and starts at the Cais do Sodré river station. During this shared cruise, you have the opportunity to see wonderful landscapes of the historical city center, passing by such sights as: the Commerce Square, São Jorge Castle, Alfama, National Pantheon, Santa Apolónia Station, Cacilhas, Christ the King, 25th of April Bridge, Tower of Belem, Discoveries Monument, MAAT and Palace of Ajuda. After the sunset the colors of the sky change and create an amazing experience, helped by the wines of the south region of Setúbal that we serve freely during the tour. We hear Fado all the way which gives the right environment to enjoy the cruise, the wine, the views and the amazing sailors stories around the Lisbon traditional boats.
This two-hour boat cruise along the River Tagus in Lisbon goes from Alfama to Belém. You will travel by open boat and see the sights from the water. On-board commentary provided by the guide ensures you don’t miss anything. As soon as we depart, you will see the amazing waterfront area between Praça do Comércio and Cais do Sodré, Ribeira das Naus where many of the Portuguese explorers' ships were built. After that is the Praça do Comércio, the largest square in Lisbon and also one of the most iconic symbols of the city and it was rebuild after the great earthquake of 1755.
On this cruise, you have the opportunity to admire some of the most amazing monuments and buildings of the city: São Jorge Castle is a Moorish castle overlooking the historic center; Lisbon Cathedral is the oldest church in the city built in 1147; Alfama is the oldest district of Lisbon. The Church of Santa Engrácia is a 17th-century monument, in the 20th century it was converted into the National Pantheon. Christ the King is a Catholic monument erected in 1959. The 25 de Abril Bridge is a 2.3 km suspension bridge.
Also seen on this tour is Belém, which has two unique monuments and are World Heritage Sites: Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and Tower of Belém. They are two jewels of the Gothic Manueline style. Padrão dos Descobrimentos is a monument located along the river where ships departed to explore and trade with India and Orient, the monument celebrates the Portuguese Age of Discovery during the 15th and 16th centuries.
At the end of the sunset cruise, you will be dropped off where the tour began.
