Description

Jean Valjean is sentenced to five years in prison for stealing a loaf of bread, which ends up turning into nineteen years of imprisonment. After leaving prison, Jean Valjean has become a distrustful and insensitive being, rejected by society again and again, until people like Monsignor Myriel cross his path, who will make him understand that if he leaves behind the rancor he may have a chance to change his destiny. Jean gets his life back on track, but it is not enough to want to be better, this small mistake will make Inspector Javert, a dog of prey, stalk him for years.
This work describes the hopeless reality of the lower classes of Paris in the mid-nineteenth century, a time plagued by revolts and social changes.
