    Every visitor needs their own ticket, including babies and young children (free for ages 0 to 3). If we're full, entry may be refused to anyone without one.

How long does the visit take?
About 1 hour. The route is free-flowing, so every visitor goes at their own pace.
Is the visit guided?
No, it's self-guided. Explanations are in Spanish and English, and the museum staff are happy to help with any questions.
Can I bring a pushchair?
Yes. Children aged 0 to 3 also enter free.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Almost the whole museum, yes. Only two rooms with very steep ramps are not accessible; the rest (more than 50 illusions and installations) can be enjoyed without any problem.
Can I take photos and videos?
Yes. Many illusions are designed to look great on camera, so it's worth bringing a well-charged phone. You can tag @museumofillusions.madrid.
Is it suitable for children? From what age?
Yes, it's ideal for families. There is no minimum age, and children from 4 years old especially enjoy it. Ages 0 to 3 enter free and ages 4 to 12 pay a child rate.
Can minors enter on their own?
Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 13 to 17 can enter alone, under the responsibility of their parents or guardians.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, as long as the museum's pet policy is followed. It's worth checking it before you go.
Can I leave and re-enter?
No, the ticket is valid for a single entry.
What happens if I arrive late or don't come at my booked time?
The ticket is only valid for the chosen date and time. Once that time has passed, changes can't be requested.
Can I use the Bono Cultural Joven?

Is there a discount for large families or single-parent families?
There is no specific rate for either, but there is a family pack for 2 adults and 2 children aged 4 to 12.
What documentation do I need for a discounted rate?
A valid document in your name that proves your eligibility (card, pass or certificate). Paper or on your phone is fine.
Does a disability ticket include a companion?
No, the companion needs their own ticket at the rate that applies to them.
Where is the museum?
At Calle del Doctor Cortezo, 8 (28012 Madrid), next to Plaza de Tirso de Molina and very close to Puerta del Sol.
How do I get there by metro?
The nearest stop is Tirso de Molina (Line 1), about a 2-minute walk. Several bus lines also run nearby.
Is there parking?
The museum has no car park of its own, but there is a private one next to the building. Please note it is inside Madrid's Low Emissions Zone, so check the restrictions if you're driving.
Are there visits for groups or schools?

Can I celebrate a birthday?
Yes, there are options for children's birthdays and other celebrations.
Is there a shop?
Yes, inside the museum there is a shop with games, souvenirs and products related to optical illusions.
Can I buy tickets at the box office?
Yes, you can buy tickets directly at the Museum of Illusions Madrid box office as long as there is availability for that day and time slot. However, we recommend buying tickets online in advance to secure your spot and get the best rates available.
What is the flexible ticket?
The flexible ticket is an add-on you can add to your online ticket that lets you enter the Museum of Illusions Madrid at any time during the selected day, without being limited to a specific time slot. Important: the flexible ticket does not allow you to change the date of your visit. It only gives you flexibility on the time during the booked day and must be added individually to each ticket.
Are tickets refundable?
Museum of Illusions Madrid tickets are not refundable, but you can reschedule your visit at no extra cost if you end up not being able to attend. Remember that the change must be made at least 1 hour before your original visit time.
I can't attend on the selected date. Can I change it?
Yes, you can change the date of your visit from the Fever app. Important: changes are only accepted up to 1 hour before the scheduled visit, never after.
