Description
The Black Plague of the XIV century was the worst pandemic humanity has ever suffered. There are many lessons that can be learned today from that event. In this engaging and illustrated live presentation, Medievalist Dr. Ana Afzali brings us to the origin of the Black Plague and how it arrived in Italy and, ultimately, the Iberian Peninsula. In the lecture, Dr. Afzali will discuss the medical theories about the plague, the social, political, and financial implications of the disease in the Iberian Peninsula, as well as the artistic expressions that came about as a result.
