In short Description
Set against the majesty of the Serengeti Plains and the evocative rhythms of Africa, Disney’s THE LION KING is one of the West End’s most celebrated musicals, playing at the historic Lyceum Theatre for more than 25 years.
At its heart is Simba’s powerful and moving story: the epic journey from wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pride Lands, a tale of love, loss and belonging that speaks to every generation.
Director Julie Taymor transformed Disney’s beloved film into a breathtaking theatrical experience, bursting with glorious colour, stunning effects and ingenious stagecraft. Elton John and Tim Rice’s iconic songs blend with rich African rhythms and choral music, creating a sound unlike anything else in the West End.
Every night, 50 performers on stage and 100 people behind the scenes bring this extraordinary production to life.
Please note: the show includes smoke, haze and strobe lighting effects.
