This is a puppet theatre show for children based on the ancient Japanese legend of Mount Ubasute. A story about the importance of elders in society and their role as transmitters of knowledge and memory. Grandma's Hideout addresses these issues with humour, tenderness, and the energy of childhood, highlighting the importance of continuing to rely on our grandparents both socially and within the family: greater wisdom, greater patience, greater courage, and above all, collective memory. According to legend, a tyrant king forced the villagers to abandon all the elderly on a mountain once they turned 70. But some children decide to hide their grandmother so that no one can find her. Meanwhile, a neighbouring kingdom attacked the village, and the invading monarch warned that he would go to war unless the people could solve three riddles.
