Description
Double bassist Javier Colina and Cuban pianist “Cucurucho” Valdés are coming together to pay a heartfelt tribute to the great Bebo Valdés on the tenth anniversary of his passing. For this project, they have revived part of the repertoire recorded as a duo by Bebo Valdés and Javier Colina, also including other songs from the Cuban folk tradition and some original compositions with vintage musical textures.
Javier Colina worked alongside Bebo Valdés for more than a decade, forging a deep artistic and personal bond. “Cucurucho” Valdés has been a member of groups playing a variety of styles, and his collaborations with major figures in the music world stand out.
