Toruń came through the war with its medieval core intact, which is why the red-brick Old Town still looks much as the Teutonic Knights and the Hanseatic merchants left it.
This self-guided audio tour takes in the Old Town Hall on the market square, the ruins of the Teutonic castle, the Leaning Tower, the Monastery and Sailors' gates, St Jacob's church and the Artus Court.
Sixteen stops in the UNESCO-listed centre, roughly two hours at your own pace, with narration playing as you walk. Your phone is the guide, so start whenever you like and stop for gingerbread whenever you want.
