Across a 1.5-hectare landscape—the largest in the Tokyo metropolitan area—roughly 500,000 moss phlox (shibazakura) of 6 different varieties create a stunning pink gradient. Approximately 500,000 moss phlox—the largest scale in the capital region—bloom across the vast grounds at the foot of Mt. Fuji. This beautiful contrast of vivid colors is a quintessential spring tradition in Japan. For its 19th year, the festival embraces the theme "The Best Seat in Spring." It is truly a premium vantage point where you can soak in the panoramic view of a spring-colored carpet stretching as far as the eye can see against the majestic Mt. Fuji in the crisp, clear air.
