In 2026, Segovia will specially celebrate the Jubilee Year of Saint John of the Cross, a spiritually and culturally significant occasion for the city, closely linked to the saint's presence and legacy. Throughout the year, various commemorative activities will take place and can be found in a dedicated program, complementing the initiatives included in Segovia with Soul. On this occasion, you'll visit the Cave of Saint Dominic. Every August 8th, the feast day of Saint Dominic of Guzmán is celebrated. In 1219, the saint resided for several months in a cave near the Eresma River. Later, the Convent of Santa Cruz la Real was built on this site, historically linked to the Catholic Monarchs, who financed the construction of its church.
