Description
It's the final day at the old library. The doorbell rings, and Matías the librarian enters. As he does, several books tumble to the floor and suddenly, a fairy flutters out from between the shelves. Surprised, Matías asks where she came from. But story-book characters lose their memories when they leave their stories. Could she be Little Red Riding Hood? Or Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk? Maybe she belongs to the tale of the genie in the lamp… To solve the mystery, the librarian opens up one beloved story after another, diving into their adventures in search of answers. Along the way, we’ll be treated to dozens of puppets of all sizes, magical shadow theater, and a variety of enchanting stage effects. The actor’s warmth and presence blend seamlessly with the wonder of puppetry, creating a truly mesmerizing performance. Guided by the librarian, we journey through a fantastic world—a beautiful metaphor for the magic of reading. Like classic folktales, the show also offers something to learn. It may seem like the age of fairies, giants, and even libraries has passed. It may seem that adventures and heroes have faded, that swords which once blurred imagination and reality are no more. That’s why La Tartana invites us to build a bridge between fantasy and the everyday—to help us lift off from anywhere, to see treasure in a few stones, or a magnificent hat in a simple piece of newspaper. The message is clear: don’t let stories and imagination disappear. And when we think the adventure is over, when the lights come on and it’s time to go home, remember: we can always open a book.
