CURRENT EVENTS

🌟In the Forest of the Future: VR Workshop and Show for Families
Sunday, April 12 and Sunday, May 10
What would happen if we could imagine the future of our planet together? What if, to do so, we could enter a forest that does not yet exist, but could one day become a reality? Once a month MEET organizes an afternoon entirely dedicated to families with children aged 4 to 10 years taking part in a project that combines technology, art and play in an engaging and interactive story. There are two events, designed to explore the relationship between man, nature, science and imagination with a new vision: from 3.00 pm the interactive virtual reality workshop "In the Forest of Numbers" and at 5.00 pm the show "In the Forest of the Future". The project is by Ariella Vidach AiEP / DiDstudio and is carried out with the support of MEET Digital Culture Center, MIC - Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Milan. An afternoon where families can spend time together creatively, approaching virtual reality not only as spectators but also as protagonists and at the same time reflecting on a changing world and how it is possible to intertwine worlds that appear distant such as technology and the environment.

NB. The workshop is reserved for children aged 4 to 10 years. To purchase tickets for the event, go to the date of interest and select tickets from the types "Workshop + show" or "Show only"

🌟Liquid Chimeras (from February 5)
From Thursday to Sunday - Immersive Room and Gallery
The exhibition arises from the urgency to reinterpret the relationship between knowledge, technology and imagination. Data on planet Earth is partial, especially those concerning oceanic ecologies, and the tools that collect it are vulnerable and conditioned by technological and economic limits. Where information is lacking, creative opportunities arise. The exhibition, curated by Eleonora Brizi, explores this space of uncertainty as a fertile environment for artistic creation, a recurring theme in the work of the duo Entangled Others (Sofia Crespo and Feileacan McCormick). Born from the European Studiotopia project, in which the artists collaborated with oceanographer Joan Llort, the exhibition transforms uncertainty into narrative and ecological possibilities. Art operates in these liminal territories where voids become generative spaces.

UPCOMING

🌟 Journey to Italy
From Wednesday to Sunday - MEET Digital Culture Center
Journey to Italy is among the first web series entirely generated with artificial intelligence. A work that sits at the intersection of documentary, fiction and meta-narrative, it is one of the most ambitious attempts to bring the language of cinema into the realm of AI video generation. The series tells the creation of an experimental show devised by a group of inventors from the University of Pisa and Olivetti in the 1960s. The crew documents a reality produced by a computing laboratory: a simulation of Italy, generated by a machine. The story starts from real elements and then opens up to a parallel timeline where a powerful artificial intelligence allows memory to be explored as a navigable space. The Italy we see is not documented, it is recreated: recognizable yet transfigured, familiar and disorienting.

PERMANENT CONTENT

🌟Renaissance Dreams
Every Wednesday - Immersive Room
The famous Turkish media artist Refik Anadol, who first exhibited in Italy at MEET in 2020, has created "Renaissance Dreams" specifically for the Center's Immersive Room, a site-specific work generated with the help of AI. Images taken from a dataset of artistic works produced in Italy during the Renaissance (1300-1600), elaborated and revisited by algorithms that alter forms and colors and create original sounds, flow before the viewer's eyes.

🌟The Roots of the New
From Wednesday to Sunday - MEET Digital Culture Center
The Roots of the New is a work in progress that retraces the key stages of digital creative evolution through the collection of posters, iconic objects and videos of key exhibitions, festivals and events in the Italian and international scene from the MEET Archive. By visiting and exploring the three floors of MEET, it will be possible to immerse yourself in a journey through the artists and movements that, from the last century to the present day, have initiated the research and expressive experimentation process triggered by the advent of digital technologies.
