Description

St Giles Cathedral hosts the Edinburgh Royal Mile International Piano Series, a new concert series featuring all 32 of Beethoven's piano sonatas across the 2025-26 season, performed by leading UK and international pianists. Set beneath candlelight in the cathedral's newly installed Steinway grand piano, this is a rare chance to hear some of the piano repertoire's greatest works, curated by each visiting performer. St Giles sits in the heart of the Royal Mile, surrounded by bars and restaurants for the rest of your evening.

Good musical both, nice venue, pianist was great. Could have done with turning the lights down a bit for ambiance - it wasn’t really a “candlelight” experience.

A beautiful concert - it just would have been nice for the pianist to introduce the pieces being played and give a bit of background about them!
