Description
This winter, Spotlight Chamber Concerts returns to the "beautifully restored church of St John’s Waterloo" (Observer). Founded in 2020 by clarinettist Anthony Friend in response to the pandemic, this small newcomer to London’s concert scene is now in its fifth edition and has a loyal following amongst artists and audiences. In this edition, Anthony Friend is joined by regular collaborators, the Maxwell String Quartet, who present a performance of their EP Gather, a "musical foraging project" of Scots folk music, alongside Brahms’ profound and folk-influenced Clarinet Quintet. Five world-class concerts offer an intense, immersive live music experience, with dramatic lighting centred only on the performers and the audience in atmospheric darkness.
