Description
The center’s mission is to show, teach and divulge the history of the Sephardic people of Segovia, by means of information panels, exhibits, and state-of-the-art digital displays. Its aim is to be a hub of information that allows the understanding and visualization of the neighborhood’s spirit, having housed one of the largest Jewish populations of the Crown of Castile. As such, expect to be immersed into the Segovia of the Sephardic Middle Ages. Home to Abraham Seneor, a prominent Jewish citizen of the period, who was able to occupy a place among the main spheres of society without renouncing his faith, until the decree of 1492. Following his death, his house became the home of an illustrious descendant of Judeo-converts: the doctor, philologist and scholar Andrés Laguna.
