  Christian McBride made his debut in 2009 with "Inside Straight," critically acclaimed, and in 2012, he won the Grammy for Best Big Band Jazz Album with the release of "The Good Feeling." McBride is recognized for his mentoring role, handpicking rising stars like pianist Christian Sands and drummer Ulysses Owens, Jr., with whom he recorded the Grammy-nominated album "Out Here." He currently hosts and produces "The Lowdown: Conversations With Christian" on SiriusXM satellite radio and co-hosts "Jazz Night in America" on National Public Radio, a weekly radio program and multimedia collaboration between WBGO, NPR, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. McBride is also the artistic director of the Newport Jazz Festival.
