Description
Step inside the iconic St Martin-in-the-Fields for a special programme of 20th-century classical music. Hear performances of two jewels of American repertoire: Copland's foot-tapping Appalachian Spring and Gershwin's ever-popular Rhapsody in Blue. Florence Price - whose music is undergoing a long-overdue revival - is also featured, and as if to show that Americans don't have a monopoly on jazz, Shostakovich's much-loved Jazz Suite concludes the concert. Enjoy these stunning compositions as performed by the resident Chamber Orchestra and soloists. This is not one to miss!
