Standing alongside the likes of the Louvre, the Vatican Museums, and the Met, the Prado Museum in central Madrid is home to some of the most iconic artworks in human history and is considered to be Spain’s most important art museum. The Prado has a collection of over 7,000 paintings (although only 1,500 are on display at any given time). The collection includes a large number of paintings by one of the most prominent figures of the Spanish Golden Age: Velázquez. It also features many of Goya's somber and darkly psychological works. In addition, you will find Flemish art with Rubens, Bruegel or Van Dyck, and the remarkable work The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch (Bosch), probably the most famous triptych in the world. Take a walk through the history of Spain and the world with this cultural journey that is El Prado! Get your tickets for the Prado Museum in Madrid!
