This new space is located in the Port Olimpic area, very close to the Poblenou Cultural District. Edward Weston. The matter of the forms

Strongly linked to the American landscape and cultural history, the work of Edward Weston (Illinois, 1886 - California, 1958) allows us to discern a unique perspective in the process of consolidation of photography as an artistic medium and its relevant role in the context of modernism in the visual arts. This extensive anthology covers all the stages of his photographic production, from his initial interest in pictorialism to his consolidation as one of the central figures in the affirmation of the poetic and speculative value of direct photography. Co-founder of the f/64 Group, his images are key to understanding the new aesthetics and the new American lifestyle that emerged in the interwar United States. Exhibition organized with the support of the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona, Tucson.

Joan Andreu Puig Farran: the convulsive decade (1929-1939)

A photojournalist for the daily press since 1929, Joan Andreu Puig Farran (Lleida, 1904 Barcelona, 1982) worked during the Republic for newspapers such as La humanitat, Esplai, El Matí, L'Opinió and La Vanguardia. With the outbreak of war, he moved to the fronts of Aragon and Mallorca. In 1939 he went into exile in France, from where he returned to Barcelona in 1945. Since he was unable to resume his work as a photojournalist, he devoted himself to industrial and tourist photography and teamed up with his friend Antoni Campañà, with whom he created the CYP postcard label. Puig Farran never presented his photographs in an exhibition. This exhibition recovers his work in years of intense social and political civil unrest through a large number of original period copies from the archives of La Vanguardia.
