Psychedelics have been an important part of human culture for thousands of years, being used in rituals, healing, divination, and—more recently—scientific research. Did you know that psilocybin (the active ingredient in mushrooms), LSD, DMT, and ayahuasca may have important therapeutic properties for the treatment of depression, anxiety, and addictions? They're also being used as important tools to help scientists understand the human consciousness and what makes us feel connected to nature and to other people.
