Description
Come celebrate Shrove Tuesday at Saint John’s in the Village! Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, is also known as Mardi Gras ('fat Tuesday') and Carnivale ('farewell to meat') as it is the last day before the strictures of Lenten begin. This cabaret show and pancake supper takes place in Revelation Gallery after the evensong and burying of the Alleluia (a brass-lettered board bearing the Hebrew word). Enjoy freshly-cooked crêpes, with both savoury and sweet fillings, accompanied by soft drinks, wine, and punch, as well as song, instrumental music, and magic from a line-up of professional artists.
