Description
Derrick "Duckie" Simpson, the "Gong Gong Gullie", is the founder and leader for reggae's Black Uhuru. Joining him are Andrew Bees and Elsa Green; together, they have managed to make Black Uhuru one of the most recognised and prolific bands for over 45 years. Teaming up with drummer Sly Dunbar and bass player Robbie Shakespeare, they developed a musical style full of deep bass thumps, sharp keys, long guitar riffs, echos and the signature "woh oh oh's", creating a classic sound that will be showcased for three nights at the Jazz Cafe.
