21st & 22nd February: "Early Years in Vienna" at Porchester Hall. This event will in part recreate the first concert that Beethoven gave for his own benefit in Vienna, featuring a symphony from Mozart and, crucially, Beethoven's own 1st Symphony.
20th & 21st March: "Crisis of Despair" at Battersea Arts Centre. This chapter explores Beethoven at one of his lowest ebbs, and how his resolve contributed to a period of intense creativity that few would ever match. This incredible tale of resilience features Beethoven's first completed work of this period: his 2nd Symphony.
Description
A genius, a misanthrope, a tragic romantic, an enlightened idealist... Beethoven has been described as all these things and a hundred more. Learn more about him as you enjoy incredible food and drink, comfortable surroundings and, of course, some of the greatest music ever written. Relive the experience of audiences from over 200 years ago, and step your experience up a notch by enjoying some delicious cocktails!
