Description
No poet has created a world theatre of comparable dimension or described human nature in its full diversity with such fascinating linguistic power as William Shakespeare.
Countertenor Andreas Scholl, flautist Dorothee Oberlinger, lute player Edin Karamazov, and renowned actor Matthias Brandt dedicate their latest programme to the legendary English playwright, fulfilling a long-cherished artistic dream. For Shakespeare's work is inseparable from music, and composers have always woven it into their musical creations to craft a moving exploration of the human soul.
Shakespeare's world - a musical and literary journey of discovery: Sonnets and monologues by William Shakespeare as well as free improvisation, instrumental music and lute songs by John Dowland, Thomas Campion, Henry Purcell, Matthew Locke and others.
