Description
With this program, the orchestra la festa musicale leaves the familiar Baroque shore and explores new ground. Together with internationally sought-after jazz trombonist Nils Landgren, the musicians bridge genres.
The core and starting point of the program are compositions by the Hanoverian court kapellmeisters Steffani, Händel, and Venturini: dance suites and concertos are performed with la festa musicale in their original form, opera arias in instrumental version, and together they form the springboard for improvisations between styles. Sometimes Nils Landgren integrates into the historical sounds with a Baroque trombone, sometimes he inspires the “old musicians” to something completely new. Hanover-composed Baroque music is thus “let off the leash”!
What can you expect from this evening? Nils Landgren does some ancestor research with his trombone, la festa musicale experiments with a musical fresh cell treatment for wild Baroque curls, and the audience experiences a wonderfully entertaining evening!
