Description
In the Allerheiligen-Hofkirche in Munich, When Music Remembers brings Germany and Italy together for a very special friendship concert. Marking the 75th anniversary of German-Italian relations, this evening invites deep reflection through music on memory, reconciliation, and friendship.
With the founding of the Federal Republic in 1949 and the resumption of diplomatic relations in 1951, a path of understanding began that today forms one of Europe's cornerstones. The concert recalls this shared responsibility not to forget the crimes of National Socialism and Fascism—and at the same time highlights the peace-building power of culture.
It features pieces that were composed during that dark epoch and are still far too rarely performed today. Their very juxtaposition, along with the accompanying moderation by Jeremias Pestalozzi, makes it possible to experience how music connects across political and historical ruptures.
Come, take your seat, and experience a shared history of remembrance in this concert—phrase by phrase, gently carried by the intimate atmosphere of the church. Get your tickets now for When Music Remembers in Munich!
