Itβs been seven years since Ballet Preljocaj performed their Snow White at Sadlerβs Wells. Continuing his exploration of fairytales, the daring contemporary choreographer Angelin Preljocaj turns his attention to a traditional Chinese tale. A traveller takes shelter from the rain in a temple and soon finds himself enchanted by one of the women depicted in a painting on the wall. La Fresque (βThe painting on the wallβ in French) features costumes designed by βcoutureβs rebellious outsideβ (The Guardian), the late Azzedine AlaΓ―a, a haunting set by Preljocajβs regular collaborator Constance Guisset and music from Nicolas Godin, co-founder of the group Air
