Description
In October 1961, Checkpoint Charlie was the scene of a face-to-face confrontation between American and Soviet tanks during the Cold War. For 16 hours, they came close to starting a third world war. One man was inside that booth, one man witnessed it all firsthand. One man carried the weight of the world on his shoulders, but also the weight of love.
Jürgen is a soldier from East Germany who just wants to do his job, follow orders and, if he's lucky, get home in time for dinner with Sabine, the woman he loves. But when an American diplomat refuses to identify himself to him, what seems like a small bureaucratic conflict turns into an international crisis.
As the governments on both sides move their pieces and the tanks begin to surround Checkpoint Charlie, Jürgen will have to face something much more dangerous than war: his own feelings.
Maybe the world is on the brink of destruction because of big egos driven by broken men.
Maybe it all started because one man wanted to go to the opera and another just wanted to get home in time
And maybe, in the middle of a war that no one wants, the only way out is love. Get your tickets for Checkpoint Charlie at La Escalera de Jacob, Madrid!
